Distribution of flyers to elementary
students for 2010-2011
School Year
The District receives many requests each year from community
organizations to send information home with our elementary students (we
don't send information home with grades 6-12). While we try to be sensitive
to the communication needs of the community, we are also mindful of what and
how much is sent home for parents to review, and we realize there are more
great causes in the community than we able to accommodate.
We try to accommodate all the requests that we find relevant to student
educational and recreational needs. Our priority is for parent-driven
volunteer organizations such as athletic leagues and our governmental units
such as city park, library, and museum activities. We also work with
non-profits, although we do not send out fundraising or general membership
appeals.
The approval process consists of sending your flyer for review, and upon
approval we will ask you to bring your 8 bags or boxes of flyers for the 8
elementary schools to the Administration Building Mail Room (please do not
deliver directly to the schools). Please do not pack them in heavy boxes
(which we then have to unpack and re-package in boxes that office personnel
can handle). We make daily deliveries to all of our schools. Here is the
break down of your flyers for K-5 (bundles of 30 each, with the exception of
Amberly which likes them not bundled).
Please, no heavy boxes (if necessary, you may have to provide several
separate bags or boxes for each school to avoid heavy boxes.
12th Street: 26
Amberly: 565 flyers
Angling: 19
Central: 20
Haverhill: 20
Lake Center: 24
Moorsbridge: 21
Woodland: 17
If your flyer needs to go to specific grade levels instead of K-5, we can
provide the number of those sections of a desired grade level for each
school. When the situation doesn't warrant the distribution of thousands of
flyers, we also have the option of placing information on office counters or
in lobby information racks. For middle schools, we will sometimes approve
counter distribution.
