Portage Public Schools Partner Organizations

Portage Public Schools is fortunate to have many active and engaged parents and community members in who support our schools and enhance the opportunities we able provide our students. 


Parent Teacher Organizations/Parent Teacher Associations (PTO/PTA)

Each school building has its own organization. The PTO/PTA presidents from each school meet quarterly for a luncheon with the Superintendent and other District officials, to share information and exchange ideas. 
 

District Advisory Council(DAC)

The District Advisory Council meets monthly throughout the school year and is a critical link between Portage Schools and the community. DAC members provide two-way communications by bringing input to the group and by taking information back to their schools or organizations. The Council, serves in an advisory capacity to the superintendent. 

Portage Athletic Foundation (PAF)

PAF LogoEstablished in 1981, the Portage Athletic Foundation (PAF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization guided by a united team of Board members, with representation from Portage Central and Portage Northern High Schools and the 3 Middle Schools. The PAF Board works cooperatively with an Advisory Committee, including the High School Athletic Directors, liaisons from the Portage Public School Administration and Board of Education.
The Portage Athletic Foundation firmly believes in the importance of teamwork and the valuable, lifelong qualities that develop through participation in athletics. With the goal of enhancing athletics district-wide, PAF works collaboratively on fund-raising efforts within the community to provide significant financial support for our high school and middle school athletic programs. PAF strives to ensure equity as we allocate grants that benefit the maximum number of student-athletes and recognize their athletic accomplishments.



Portage Education Foundation

PEF LogoThe PEF, established in 1990, is a 501(c)3 non-profit and has awarded nearly $500,000 in grants and scholarships throughout Portage Schools. The Mission of the Foundation is to develop, provide, and enhance the educational opportunities for the largest number of students, staff, and community members possible and allocate funds where they provide the greatest benefit.
