Grad Bash

NOTE: Grad Bash is not sponsored, authorized nor chaperoned by Portage Public Schools nor Portage Northern High School.

Grad Bash is a parent-chaperoned, parent-sponsored, all night post-graduation party held immediately following our Graduation ceremony, this year on Thursday May 30, 2019.  New this year, it will be a 24 HOUR EVENT!   Students will leave after graduation from Miller Auditorium and return between 10 PM to 11 PM on Friday night, May 31.  This year’s venue has never been used for a PN Grad Bash. The use of this venue calls for more time than a typical venue to get money’s worth, so the Grad Bash committee has extended the time to make it a 24 hour event.

Transportation, food, entertainment and prizes are all provided.  The location of the party is kept secret from the students to heighten the level of excitement – think of it as one of those mystery vacations. Historically, Grad Bash has been a huge success, thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by the students.

While there will be many graduation parties throughout the weeks following graduation, this event is unique in bringing together the entire graduating class, for probably the last time since some will depart for school or other adult life opportunities during the summer. It is the goal of this committee to help our graduates capture all that “last day ever [high school]” energy and enthusiasm by providing them a fun, safe venue to celebrate, relax and have a genuinely good time.

Spaghetti Dinner  – Come join Saturday March 23 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM for food and fun. Seniors and senior parents can sign up here to help serve and work the dinner.  Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in several ways: using this link to reserve tickets and purchasing them through the PayPal button below, at our table at conferences, or during lunch periods on March 14-15.

UPDATE: A generous senior family has donated some awesome sports memorabilia so we are adding a Silent Auction to our Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser! Purchase your $10 Ticket and you will receive: a choice of two pastas, a choice of three sauces (meat, marinara or alfredo sauce), a garlic breadstick, a garden salad, a dessert, a drink AND a chance to win a Greg Jennings autographed football. Sports memorabilia in the Silent Auction include: two Lindsey Tarpley autographed soccer balls, Bo Schembechler autographed football, Mark Dantonio autographed football, Jim Schwartz autographed football, Mike Ditka autographed football, and a Ryan Rayburn autographed baseball. Other fun items are being added to the Silent Auction as well so buy a ticket and join us at the Dinner!

Pop Can Drive – Grad Bash’s first ever Pop Can Drive is happening!  To make our Grad Bash Pop Can Drive as successful as possible, we are expanding the opportunity to collect cans and compete for the “Top Collecting Team”.  Teams of 4 or 5 seniors should use signupgenius to register their team.  In the comment section, please list your team members and indicate if there is a certain neighborhood in which you will be collecting.  Please avoid neighborhoods listed by other registered teams.   All teams can collect cans and redeem them now through March 24.  When collecting cans, please wear Portage Northern wear to show who we are and carry one of our flyers to show why we are collecting. The money should be turned into the main office by March 25th in an envelope labeled with the Team Name.  The winning team will be announced March 26th and will receive gift cards to Celebration Cinema!

Butter Braids – Thru March 25, seniors can sell these delicious frozen pastries.  Seniors can pick up an from the 1st floor office, and of course there will be a gift card for the senior who sells the most Braids.  Orders will be delivered April 9th.
