Monday 10/16

Hey WEB leaders!! Please plan on attending WEB meeting this Thursday, October 19th, during TCB in the cafeteria. We will be taking our pic for the yearbook, so come wearing your WEB t-shirts. If you have questions or are unable to attend the meeting please see Ms. Brown or Ms. VR.

This Friday, North Middle School will hold its annual Halloween Day Party.  The party will last from 3:00-4:00.  The cost of admission is one dollar.  There will be prizes offered to the best (original) costume for a boy and girl from each grade level.  All sixth grade students are to meet by the display case at 3:45.  7th grade students are to meet by the display case at 3:50, with 8th graders responding at 3:55.  If you are not there at the designated time, you will not qualify for a prize. The pool, gym, cafeteria and media center will all be open for the party.  Please have your rides lined up in advance.

On October 17th, that’s tomorrow afternoon, our 8th grade girls will be fighting for first place in Kalamazoo, Mattawan and Portage league.  We want our gym rocking.  To help accomplish this, Mr. Thomsen has waived admission for just this night for students.  It will cost you nothing to attend.  Let’s show the girls what they mean to North Middle School.

Some students have suggested different songs for our coming Halloween Day party.  If you have a song that you wish to have played, please submit them to Ashika Gullapalli in Ms. Dalecki’s homeroom.

Today after school we will be holding in the NMS gym our annual 7th and 8th grade girls volleyball scrimmage.  Admission will be free for all of you that would like to attend.  The match should start between 3:25 and 3:30.  Both A and B teams will play two games.

Attention student leaders.  There will be a meeting in room 85 during TCB today.  Please be timely.

There will be a forensics meeting in room 106 today. Please plan to be there if you plan to participate.

All 8th boys interested in playing basketball, there will be a meeting in the Mr. McCarthy’s room 95 today during TCB. See Mr. McCarthy if you are unable to attend.

Hey PNXC Fans;  So, it just keeps rolling… Your boys finished their season at Vicksburg last night with TWO PERFECT races by the Varsity and JV Boys.

The Varsity was led by Zander Crooksy-Monster, Carter Batt, Gage Witt, Liam Millership, Luke Rathburn, Matt Carlisle, and Cole Smitty. The JV also had a perfect fifteen points, with amazing races put down by Logan PostToasties, J-Munny Munson, Ira Webster, Jaxen Wilson, Jack Christy, Avery Kucharski, and Travis Heyn. Your boys finished with three perfect races, an undefeated season, claimed the Portage Invite Black Shirts, and finished RANKED NUMBER ONE IN THE STATE!!

Our girls continued to impress, with both squads running great races. Medals were brought home by Olivia Chard and Rory Wilke in the JV race. For our Varsity girls, Megan P., Emmy-Jo, Dayle Bruns, Camryn Batt, Rebecca James, and Sammy Killmer brought home medals… Annabelle Bartz only missed by one place, and your Varsity girls finished second by only seven points. An amazing season was had by all… Great work Top Runners!!!

Hey Huskies – Come out and hear your favorite 7th or 8th grade band member tonight at the first band concert of the year! Concert begins at 7pm in the High School Auditorium. It’s fun and it’s free – don’t miss out!

Last night our gym was rocking.  The 8th grade girls gave it everything they had, but came out short.  Our B-team girls lost to West by the scores of 22-25, 19-25, and 12-15.  Our A-Team lost to West by the scores of 20-25, 22-25, and 12-15.  Our next match is after school at NMS against Battle Creek Central.  We hope to see you there.

The 8th grade girls’ volleyball team is going to Sky Zone today after school.  We are to meet in the front of the school at 3:15.  Jumping begins at 4:00 and lasts one hour.  Pizza and pop are included.  Please have your rides lined up in advance.

23 area middle schools had students audition for Honors Band 2017! Congratulations to our two North Middle students who were selected: Anne Galin and Katie Plesco. Great job!

Attention all Student Leaders: Please report to room 85 and the conclusion of 7th hour so that we can prepare for today’s Halloween party.  There is a lot to set up.

Last night our 8th grade girls’ volleyball team was victorious against Battle Creek Central.  Our B-Team won by scores of   25-9, 25-14, and 15-5. The A-Team won by scores of 25-9, 25-11, and 15-4.  It’s been a great season.  Coach Kahl and Mr. Moiles would like to thank everyone that made this season especially memorable.

“The 7th grade girls volleyball teams had their last game of the season in Battle Creek yesterday. Both teams did very well. With the B team winning their first game, losing their second, then battling back for a victory in the third game with a score of 16-14. The A team won all three of their games with a first game score of 25-17, second game score 25-13, and a close third game win of 15-13. Great job, and thanks for a great season!”

Next Friday at 11:30, the NMS 8th grade girls have been challenged to a volleyball match by the 8th grade boys.  This match will be played at the NMS gym.  There will be no cost to attend.  There will be an A and B match.  Both matches will be decided by the first to win 2 games.

 

Next eek begins “Red Ribbon Week,” our campaign to eliminate illegal drug, alcohol, and tobacco use within our community.  We encourage all students and staff to participate in this week long celebration to end drug abuse.
