North Middle School PTO

Welcome to the Portage North Middle School PTO page. Our objective is to enhance our children’s middle school experiences in any way we can, and we need your assistance to accomplish that goal. Many opportunities are available for you to be involved in your child’s middle school years.  Please familiarize yourself with those activities and volunteer where you feel you can help. “Many hands, make light work!”

 PTO Bylaws

The PTO will hold virtual meetings from 6:30-7:30pm on the 3rd Monday of alternating months. Please use the following Google Meet link to attend the meetings:  https://meet.google.com/jbe-yvux-oxk. Meetings will take place on the following dates:

What happens at our meetings?  Of course we have our regular agenda where we report on committee activities, look at upcoming events and hear from our principal.  But PTO meetings are where engaged parents get together to hear about important news concerning our school and the district, suggest new ideas for the PTO to pursue, and to even meet special guests.  Bake sales? We won’t rule them out, but your PTO is so much more than that. We hope you’ll join us.

PTO Online Store

Any student wishing to purchase NMS attire can do so through the online store https://portagenorth.itemorder.com/sale that the PTO has set up.

Curriculum Instructional Committee (CIC)

The PTO also plays a role on the Curriculum Instructional Committee (CIC), the district-wide group that reviews all proposals and initiatives concern PreK-12 curriculum, instruction, instructional technology and assessment. One parent representative is invited from each school, and for PNMS, this representative is typically chosen from the PTO and presents a report each month at the PTO meeting.
