Other Early Childhood Programs
Speech-Language Therapy & Speech Sprouts
Portage Public Schools early childhood Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) provide a range of speech and language therapy services to preschool-age children at Curious Kids.
Depending on the individual needs of the child, SLPs may work with children in a “walk-in” speech language therapy format, where parents bring the child to Curious Kids to receive speech and language therapy services weekly. The early childhood SLPs also run a program called “Speech Sprouts”, which is a more intensive communication intervention.
“Speech Sprouts” groups meet for one hour, two times per week, and aim to support the skill development of students with significant needs in several areas of communication (speech production, language understanding and expression, social language skills, etc.).
