Join us at Y5/Kindergarten Registration Night!

It's time to register our youngest learners in Young 5s and Kindergarten at PPS. New this year, we have a one-stop shop for families! Families of NEW Y5ers and Kindergarteners are invited to register for the 2025-26 school year at an all new Registration Night.

Service providers will be on-site to offer health screenings and immunizations required for enrollment. Families of new students can also complete their online enrollment with the help of on-site staff.

When: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. (open house style) Thursday, March 20
Where: Portage Northern High School Commons (1000 Idaho Ave.)

Can't make it to registration night? Register your child for the 2025-26 school year below after Feb. 15.

Welcome to Young 5s & Kindergarten at Portage Public Schools!

PPS provides school-based full-day kindergarten in each of our eight elementary schools. Young 5s is a District program and is not housed in all schools.  For any school unable to house Young 5s, the children assigned to that school will attend a “sister school” and will return to their home school for Kindergarten. For children turning 5 between Sept. 2 and Dec. 1 of the enrolling school year.
