Pay to Participate

The Pay to Participate plan allows Portage Public Schools to offer a wide variety of a activities for students by helping to off-set part of the costs.

Pay to Participate is for students at the middle and high school levels (grades 6-12) who participate in extracurricular activities. These include varsity athletics, all intramural sports, certain clubs and other extra-curricular activities, like musical productions, play productions, debate and forensics – except when students are participating in these activities as a class. Payments are due prior to the first competition or performance.

There are two ways to pay:

  1. Print one of the forms below and submit a copy with your payment to your school/coach or activity leader.  You can also get a copy from your school.

2. New in the 2017/18 School Year. Pay through your student’s Fee Management Account in Skyward once they have been added to the official roster.  The fees will be calculated automatically and appear in the Fee Management Tab in Skyward Family Access.  The rosters will be finalized well in advance of the first contest/performance.

In order to make sure the plan is affordable to all families and that no student is prevented from being a part of extracurricular activities, there is a cap on fees for families with multiple students, and financial assistance is available.  If your student qualifies for Free or Reduced lunch, the amount you pay will automatically be discounted.  You must complete an application at www.lunchapp.com to determine if you are eligible for benefits.

Pay to Participate is an annual fee per student regardless of the number of extra-curricular activities.
Pay online through your Skyward Family Access account.
