Students from Portage Northern and Portage Central high schools presented a record-breaking donation from this year’s Breadlift fundraiser Friday. 

Students presented a check of more than $45,000 to C.S. Mott’s Children's Hospital Friday, Dec. 13, at Portage Northern High.  The donation was a combined effort between Portage Northern, Portage Central High and Gull Lake High School students.

Portage Northern broke their all-time Breadlift record this year and brought in $30,129.87 alone. Portage Central High students raised $14,414 while Gull Lake brought in $1,317.15.

For this year’s Breadlift fundraiser, students raised money for Pediatric Heart Transplants at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in honor of Portage Central student Jenna Howard who tragically passed away last year.

Breadlift began in 1966 by a group of Portage Northern High students.
