Michigan Leadership Institute plans to have a new superintendent at Portage Public Schools seated by July 1, according to their search timeline released Monday, March 11.
The following is the anticipated timeline to choose a new superintendent.
March 11: Superintendent of School Position Posted
April 25: Posting Closes at 4:00 pm
May 7: Special Board Meeting , Presentation of Candidates to Board - 5:00PM
Selection of 4 to 6 candidates to be interviewed
Preparation for Interviews
Finalize Questions for First Round
May 14 & 15: First Round Interviews – Time TBD
Selection of 2 to 3 finalists to be interviewed
May 28: Final Interviews – Time TBD
Selection of Candidate/Enter into Contract Negotiations
June 16: Board Meeting -Formally Hire new Superintendent (post contract negotiation)
July 1: New Superintendent Begins Duties
