students wearing hard hats and construction vests smile for a photo

Donning hard hats and bright safety vests, students got an up-close look at what will soon be their new school building.

Haverhill Elementary School students toured the construction site for their new building and presented their observations to the Board of Education at a recent meeting.

The students reflected on what they saw and what excited them while walking the future hallways.

“I'm extremely excited about the gym and that all the rooms are big and the new school will have air conditioning,” Haverhill student Terrell said in his presentation.

“There are six swings. I like it because they are nice and low for the young kids,” the CEL students said in their presentation.

A flyover video of the playground renderings from TowerPinkster shows off all the expected elements.

Both buildings will be open for the start of the 2025-26 school year.  Thank you to our Portage community for your support of our students!
