The Board of Education approved the hiring of Mr. Lowder as the new Head Principal at Portage Northern High. Mr. Lowder joins us from his most recent role as the Superintendent of Vandercook Lake Public Schools. He brings an exceptional wealth of experience and a proven track record of educational leadership that will undoubtedly elevate PNHS and our district.
The Board also approved the addition of Ms. Speaker-Gerstheimer as our next 9-12 Curriculum and Systems Director. She is an accomplished educational leader with a distinguished career spanning several pivotal roles in school administration. She comes to us after serving Midland Public Schools as the Secondary Curriculum Specialist and prior to was Head Principal of Midland High School.

Another shout-out to our Summer Learning Superstars! Today, middle schoolers shined at their Project-Based Learning Summer Program Share Fair, which included sampling of both student-made podcasts and their homemade cooking.
Over the summer, the students learned about both healthy recipes and debating respectfully, resulting in food to share and podcasts on a variety of topics. Way to go!!

Do you know how to play cricket? PPS English Language Learners hosted their very own lesson on the bat-and-ball game that is most popular in South Asia.
The lessons were part of an afternoon showcase where students who attended the PPS ELL Summer Learning camps presented their projects -- and played a fun game of soccer. Other projects included clay making, 3D printing, map making and more!











Today, the cutest critters joined our elementary students in their final week of Summer Learning at PPS. From sheep and goats to baby bunnies and cock-a-doodling roosters, the animals enjoyed a field trip to meet new friends. Thanks to Critter Barn from Zeeland .











This summer, more than 100 PPS English Learners in Y5s through high school have been having a great time improving their English skills, building friendships and participating in project-based learning at our summer enrichment camps.
