Portage Northern High School is proud to host the Regional MITES Competition in the Igloo on May 2-3, 2024. Portage Northern houses the local CTE (Career & Technical Education) program, Engineering and Wood Technology.
MITES (Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society) is an organization that focuses on Industrial Arts & Technology, Career & Technical Education, Graphic Arts and STEM classes for educators and students in Michigan.
The Regional MITES Competition offers students the opportunity to enter their projects, anything from boats, ink pens, tables, cabinets, plastics and metal working, to be judged by local industry members on Thursday, May 2 in the afternoon/evening. Winners will then have the opportunity to move to the MITES State Competition in Gaylord, MI on May 9-11.
This competition is open to the public on Friday, May 3 from 7:30am until 4pm in the Igloo here at PN.
