Students across Southwest Michigan brought their best projects in woodworking, metalsmithing and more to Portage Northern High last week for the Regional Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society Competition.
Northern High is home to the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency’s Career and Technical Education program Engineering and Wood Technology.
Students from Kalamazoo, Van Buren, Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph counties entered projects including wood furniture, metal statues and figurines, jewelry and more to be judged by local industry professionals. Winners of the Regional MITES competition will have the opportunity to advance to the State Competition in Gaylord later this month.
Congratulations to Portage Northern and Portage Central High students, as well as others from across the region!
