Breadlift was a tremendous success – thanks to you!

Last Saturday, through our annual Breadlift Fundraiser, over 500 student volunteers from Portage Public Schools raised over $30,000 for the Karen Wellington Foundation, a charity that provides fun experiences to women living with breast cancer and their families. We cannot thank those of you who donated enough for your generosity. If you did not get a chance to donate on Saturday, you can make a donation here:  https://www.karenwellingtonfoundation.org/donate

Thank you, Kellogg Foundation – from our orchestra students and all of PC!

Our orchestra students were asked to provide the music for their diverse Kellogg Foundation staff and board. So our kids chose music  that would represent the Diwali celebration – along with Hanukkah, a Christmas-fiddle piece, as well as more Holiday melodies.  The Audience was so receptive and our kids were very appreciative.

Looking toward the Holidays and what some of our families really need

We were so grateful that so many families donated gas cards during the last two Holiday seasons. Those went out to many of our families, to help them go to work and to do all the other necessary things for their families. I received many thank-you notes from our parents; they talked about how these gifts came just in time for what their families needed.

So we would be beyond grateful, if you and your family would consider donating gas cards again during the Holiday season. If that is something you can help with, thank you! Cards can be dropped off at the Welcome Center anytime between now and December 23, our last day of school before the break. And if you have any thoughts or other ideas, please let me know – anytime.

CMS students give a huge thank you goes out to our Mustang Mentors

The Mustang Mentor program currently has over 70 PC students coming to the middle school to volunteer their time mentoring our students. These mentors are helping with homework, organizational skills, communication, and just great role models for our rising Mustangs. This program is really making a difference!!! Students are asking for mentors and we are still trying to fulfill requests. The leadership shown by the mentors is truly leaving an impact – and we are grateful.

Back by popular demand for the Holidays… Buy a brick for McCamley or Mustang Field, or a tile for the new pool! Great Holiday Gifts! So many families and community members purchased bricks at the new McCamley and Mustang Fields and tiles at the new pool — to leave their mark in these spaces where so many great kids, parents, families, and community members celebrated and where so many more will celebrate decades into the future. This sale continues until Graduation Day this spring. So if you are considering a brick at the new McCamley or Mustang Field, click here.  If you would like a tile at the new pool, click here. Thank you — again and again — for all that you have done!
