A huge Mustang thank you goes out to 1st Source Bank!

As we head into the Holiday season, great colleagues at 1st Source donated hundreds and hundreds of popcorn bags for athletics events, as well as $200, which will go to our fund to help students in need. We are truly blessed to serve a community and business-community that supports all our kids.

Does your PC student need to take medication here at school?

As a reminder please continue to work on getting student's emergency action plans and medication authorization forms completed and turned into the office. Having these forms is a school policy but most importantly a way to help keep your student(s) safe here at school. If you have not already done so, please also remember to connect with our new school nurse, Chloe Lark. Her contact information is clark@portageps.org and her number is 269.323.5667.

We hope to see you at the…

Take a look at this useful…

Local Resource Guide

A great colleague at Woodland Elementary shared this Guide for families who could use a little more support, especially during the intense Holiday season. In the guide there is information about local food pantries and distribution times and locations, as well as mental-health and other supports. Thanks, too, for sharing it with anyone who might find it helpful.

Just a reminder…

Please remember to drop off students in the drop-off areas, and not elsewhere

Between when we built the new PC in 2011 and 2019, the number of students who rode school buses before and after school declined by 50%. And bus ridership declined further through the pandemic.

So it is more important than ever to make sure we are all communicating to one another as we drive near and on campus. One way we do this well is by only dropping off our kids at the drop-off loops -- and nowhere else. We have had some really close calls, particularly when folks drop off or pick up  students on the drive off Westnedge or in the roadways.

Too, parents of PC, please do not drop off students in the middle-school loop, unless of course you have a middle-school student too. They have many of their own families, and our presence makes their world more congested.

Thanks for helping keep our kids safe!

Speaking of parking …

For evening events, please park in The Stable and pool parking lots

Since the Auditorium and the Gymnasium are on the south side of our building, we are asking all patrons to park in the Stable Parking Lot and the Natatorium Parking Lot. Only those doors will be unlocked, only those parking lot lights will be on, and only those lots will be plowed. By parking there, you will be much closer to all events. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Winter Homecoming and Sadie Hawkins Dance

We wanted to be sure that you got these dates on your calendar. Winter Homecoming week will be held on Monday, January 29 through Friday, February 2. We know there is no school on Friday, February 2nd, but there will be a Homecoming Court at that basketball game. Then, on Saturday, February 3rd, there will be a Sadie Hawkins dance in the Mustang Commons.

Great Holiday gifts!

Buy a brick for McCamley-Knight or Mustang Field, or a tile for the new pool! So many families and community members purchased bricks at the new McCamley and Mustang Fields and tiles at the new pool — to leave their mark in these spaces where so many great kids, parents, families, and community members celebrated and where so many more will celebrate decades into the future. This sale continues until Graduation Day this spring. So if you are considering a brick at the new McCamley-Knight or Mustang Field, click here.  If you would like a tile at the new pool, click here. Thank you — again and again — for all that you have done!

Hoping you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving,
