Our Daily Announcements to our students
The Portage Central community is mourning the passing of one of our students today, Senior Christopher deCastro.
Counselors met this morning to establish a plan for how we can support our students and families during this very difficult time.
Counselors from our District’s crisis-response team are available today and will be available tomorrow for any students to meet and to talk through this loss with them.
All of our students received this form today, in order to share whether they needed debriefing support from our counseling team at this time. As you talk with your kids tonight and tomorrow, and if you decide that they need additional support, please click the same link to inform our counselors.

Family members, keep in mind that all of our students process loss in their own, particular ways. One of our roles as partners with you is to maintain as caring and as normal of a school environment as possible.
