To give our kids some extra support as we head into exams…

Cocoa & Cram is this Saturday

On Saturday, January 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Commons here at Portage Central High School, we are hosting an exam study session for students who may need assistance in preparing for exams. It is an open house type setting. That being said, we are in need of tutors to support those students. Here is the link to sign up to be a tutor for that day, and you do get service hours. Cocoa & Cram January 20, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Smith in the Activities Office or email her at nsmith@portageps.org. Thanks for supporting your fellow peers.

Help us remind our students…

Go to enrollment room at the start of the day on Monday, February 29

On the first day of each semester, students go directly to an "enrollment room" at the start of the school day.  Important announcements are shared, policies are reviewed, and students will receive a printed copy of their second semester schedule.  For more information about what we share in enrollment room, check out this page of the GLIC.

Speaking of the GLIC, check out the resource section for Mustang Families

This section is intended to share frequently-requested resources on topics like social media management, academic support, and substance-abuse prevention.  Check it out here!

Thank you for helping us recover outstanding materials

In enrollment rooms on Monday, students with outstanding textbooks will receive a notification and we will be working with them to get those materials returned.  If you see any books laying around – in a car, under a bed, or elsewhere – ask whether that book needs to be returned to school.  In the coming weeks, we will notify families if we are unsuccessful in recovering outstanding materials from students.  Thanks for your help!

Seniors and families with seniors, save the date!

Senior cap-and-gown pictures will be Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3

To continue our tradition of taking class pictures since 1922, we will be taking pictures of each of our seniors Tuesday, April 2 and Wednesday, April 3 up on the third-floor bridge, and these pictures will be used for our class composites that hang down near the Activities Office.

We will have our photographer at the 3rd-floor bridge taking pictures of our students wearing caps and gowns on

● Tuesday, hours 5-7

● Wednesday, hours 1-4

Seniors, you don’t need to bring your own caps and gowns; we will have some waiting for you. Wear a nice shirt; this picture of you will be hanging on our wall for at least the next 100 years. We will be calling seniors down alphabetically. If you have an off-campus class, stop up there when it works for you; we want to make sure that we don’t miss anyone. You might have to stand in line for a few minutes, so thanks in advance for your patience. Any questions? Drop me an email anytime – and thanks!
