Participation in the State of Michigan Schools of Choice is voluntary. PPS elects to participate in both the In-County and Out-of-County programs. Schools of Choice applications were due April 1.

For those who missed our Schools of Choice (SOC) deadline, we offer our Non-Resident Transfer (NRT) Program.  Applications are accepted annually from June 30 to July 30. Decisions are emailed to families by August 13.  Approval is only granted for the upcoming school year. Students are required to apply during the next Schools of Choice window to be eligible to continue.

All decisions are final. Families are strongly encouraged to be as thorough as possible during the application process.  Lack of information may result in denial.  No appeals will be accepted.  Families will be permitted to apply again the following school year if desired.

Enrolling at PPS through the NRT Program requires three actions:

1. Families must APPLY for approval to attend during the application window

2. Families must obtain permission (a release) from their resident district (even if your child has never attended there)

3. Approved families must wait to ENROLL through Skyward until after receiving formal approval
