Today, our 8th Grade ELA Extension Group presented their final projects based on the novel "Watership Down." This voluntary, non-graded opportunity was made available to any 8th grade student that was interested during their XTS period. Final products included illustrations, original compositions, compare/contrast boards, children's books, poems, and more! The students were pleased to present their projects to invited guests from within the building and around the district, including Superintendent Mark Bielang! March is Reading Month! Our library is hosting "March Book Madness" all month, where students will vote for their favorite books! The first round of voting ends tomorrow. This year's theme is "Books Make Your Imagination Bloom." Students can pick up the design form in the library on the table by the student printer. Happy Reading Month!

Our Mathcounts team traveled to Oakland University to compete in the state competition last weekend! We are so proud for how they represented themselves, Portage West, and Portage Public Schools! Congratulations on an amazing season! Special thanks to Jason Shaye, who is currently a senior at Portage Central High School, for volunteering to serve as our team's coach for the past two years.
